MONEY management, first aid and healthy eating will be taught to all pupils in Wales under the revised national curriculum.
The measures will help reduce debt and save lives, financial and health organisations said last night.
Education Minister Jane Hutt, below, announced the changes after almost four years of consultations.
Other changes include teaching pupils more about handling personal relationships and how to lead environmentally-friendly lifestyles.
There will also be greater emphasis on the Curriculum Cymreig, studying issues relevant to Wales and learning Welsh.
The revised curriculum for the three to 19 age range will start in September next year.
