Topical Analyses

These topic based reports have been generated using evidence gained from FSW surveys. The purpose of these reports is to assist FSW Partners in developing policy and planning the provision of service delivery.

Occupational Analysis 2005

This report provides an overview of the occupational structure in Wales, an examination of employer's skills requirements and an analysis of skills gaps by occupation, and a look at off-the-job training practices.

Small Employers Report 2005

This report examines the challenges facing micro employers and in particular how they maintain requisite skill levels within their organisations. The report offers a more detailed understanding of the different types of employer which fall within the 1-9 employee establishments, highlighting the challenges faced by micro employers, the actions they themselves are taking and possible actions that DCELLS could take to support them.

Factsheets 2003

A series of 22 fact sheets based on the results of the FSW 2003 Generic Skills survey have been produced. One fact sheet for each UA has been produced, each providing a summary of the key survey findings relating to the local area.

The wealth of data generated by the survey makes it impossible to cover every angle in reports of this size and nature and so the following reports concentrate on areas where results are of significant interest.
